Welcome to Heceta Beach Oregon
Located in the center of the beatiful and majestic Oregon Coast is Heceta Beach. A small community of only a few hundred people Heceta Beach is part of the bigger area of Florence Oregon. Nestled just north of the town of Florence, Heceta Beach is still in Lane county and is considered the next settlement norht of the Siuslaw River.
Originally platted in 1915 Heceta Beach boasts a county park along the coast with picnic areas and lots of sandy beaches to traverse in any season. Just a little farther north is Heceta Head which is a headland that stretches 1,000 feet above the Pacific Ocean. This headland marks the end of a lower-lying stretch of the coastline to the south which is predominantly sand dunes. This is also part of the Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint.
Quite a site to behold and with the bed and breakfast overlooking the water, a wonderful place for a weekend getaway. There are two bridges near the headland that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places because of their unique construction. The Big Creek Bridge and Cape Creek Bridge which is the first bridge in the world to have zinc thermal sprayed over the entire structure.
The Heceta Head Lighthouse is a breath-taking spot to take in. Orifinally constructed in 1894 the 56 foot tall structure emits the strongest light beam on the Oregon Coast. Maintained by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department and is currently operated as a bed and breakfast. But don't worry, we won't turn that 21 mile visibility light on in the morning to wake you up.
